WRK Group, Open Streets Wilmington 2023 Community Day Attracts Hundreds of Riverside Residents

Community Day, which shut down Bowers Street, was the biggest community event in Riverside for years.

The WRK Group and Open Streets Wilmington teamed up for an event on Saturday, September 16 that was the biggest in Riverside for years. The annual Community Day closed down Bowers Street for the first time between 23rd Street and Todds Lane, and the event attracted hundreds of Riverside and Imani Village residents.

Community Day attendees enjoyed music from DJ Smoove, DJ TimDogg, VinTage Jazz and more, as well as face painting, balloon animals, free food, bike rentals and repairs from Urban Bike Project, tennis with Rodney Street Tennis, giveaways, and many more vendors and activities.
